For example, although pregnancy is physical it will also involve various emotions. These may differ depending on the circumstances of the pregnancy and will be unique to the people involved. Pregnancy may also be viewed as a social issue. Both teenage pregnancy and older parents may be considered as out with societal norms. Social implications for teen parents may also differ, including gaps in education, financial difficulties and relationships with peers and family. Higher rates of teenage pregnancy can also be linked to wider social factors such as poverty.

Similarly pressure may be physical (force) emotional (coercion, persuasion) and social (expectation, peers) It is helpful to consider all 3 factors as inter-linked to fully understand sexual health.
