If management of the wound is within the scope of competence of the attending service, dressings as per NHS Tayside Wound Management Formulary recommendations should be used wherever possible.
Referral to community wound clinic services is advised for complex or chronic wound management; Podiatry Services or Leg Ulcer Specialist clinic, contact in the first instance should be made with the Care and Treatment services in your area.
The Harm Reduction Team can also assist with the assessment and care of injecting related injuries and access to antibiotic therapy for early identified wound infections.
